Hardware Solutions

Designing the chips and controls inside Africa's infrastructure.

We design integrated circuits and control systems for advanced technological infrastructure, so more of the technology Africa relies on is designed here.

  • Integrated circuits
  • Control systems
  • Local engineering skill

The problem

Africa should help design the technology it depends on.

Much of the technology used across Africa runs on hardware designed somewhere else: the chips, the controllers, the parts that decide how a machine behaves. That leaves the continent dependent on others for supply, for price and for design choices, and makes it hard to adapt technology to local conditions.

Our work

What we are doing

We are designing integrated circuits and control systems, the parts that tell power systems, machines and transport systems what to do.

Our software work funds and speeds this up, and the hardware we design is meant to work hand in hand with our energy and transportation journeys and with the AI that guides them.

Our principles

How we approach it

The principles that guide our decisions, our work and the partnerships we build.

  1. 1
    Principle

    Start practical

We build what can be tested and deployed under real conditions, one step at a time.

  2. 2
    Principle

    Build local skill

Every project is also a chance to grow African engineering capacity.

  3. 3
    Principle

    Share what we learn

We work openly with partners and researchers and measure progress by what we achieve together.

Why Vision

Software, hardware and AI working together.

Software Hardware AI

Technology for Africa's future

Most companies make either software or hardware. We are building both, with AI across them, because infrastructure needs all three to work together. Our just cause is technological sovereignty, and designing our own hardware is a big part of it.
